Dr. Shannon Budiselic, DVM, CVA, CERT, CCRT

Dr. Shannon Budiselic graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) in 2005.  After obtaining her veterinary degree, she completed an internship (in surgery, medicine, anaesthesia, ambulatory medicne) in Alberta, Canada.  She has worked at numerous equine referral practices throughout Canada and the United States.

In order to obtain greater understanding of neurological and orthopaedic sports conditions in dogs and horses, Shannon obtained her first post-graduate physical rehabilitation certification through the Animal Rehabilitation Institute (qualifying as a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Therapist) in Florida.  She then obtained additional training and was awarded her Certification in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy through the Canine Rehab Institute. Additionally, Shannon is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS).

Shannon divides her professional time between the Canine Fitness Centre Ltd, in Calgary, and her canine and equine out-patient physical rehabilitation practice (Equilibrium Veterinary Rehabilitation), based in Okotoks, Alberta.  At the Canine Fitness Centres, Shannon enjoys the collaborative professional atmosphere, varied caseload, and fantastic patients and clients.

When she is not working, Shannon enjoys sharing a ‘dog’s life’ with her family and adopted Greyhound, Blackie.  She is a passionate rehabilitation professional and is keen to share her vision within the profession as a mentor and educator.  Shannon teaches continuing education courses at the Animal Rehabilitation Institute, and enjoys writing articles on pet health for local publications.
